A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same. - Elbert Hubbard

Had been so busy with school and photography that I’ve once again neglected this humble space of mine. Life so far has many ups and downs, be it academically or emotionally. Being fully engrossed in brushing up my photography skills has really taken up most of my time that sometimes, I don’t really feel motivated with regards to my studies. Juggling with my love life, photography and studies could be so tiring that I can even drop dead the moment I reach home. Perhaps I’ll just have to be more matured to take on these three tasks and manage them well. Just gotten my new lens, Nikkor AF 35mm f/2.0D, not long ago. It’s a fabulous lens – the sharpness, the Bokeh, the image quality. It just seem to a perfect match with my AF 50mm f/1.4D, just like what left and right hand men are for. The interesting fact is how close I can get to produce a sharply focused subject – 0.25m. It’s THAT close! But the main reason why I’ve chosen that lens isn’t because of it’s minimum focusing distance, it’s the focal length that I’m interested in. ‘Cause I want a focal length that can give me a slightly wide photo which won’t cramp the subjects too much into the frame, and 35mm seem like a focal length that can do just that. Enough of talking and let the photos do the rest. Enjoy. =]

Hope you guys did enjoy the photos. I shall update this space soon, so do stay tune! You can catch me at Tumblr over here. ^^

Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced. - Leo Tolstoy

Had been real busy with my studies, that I’ve totally neglected this space. MST was a real killer, when I wasn’t really studying for the various tests. All I care about then, was to improve on my photography skills. I’ve been brushing up my photography skills by taking more photos as a form of practice. Hopefully all these practicing can be fruitful and my photos can turn out the way the viewers and I want them to be. Enough blabbering then, shall let the photos do the talking. Enjoy. =]

Cuando el amor se hace cargo

In my mind’s eye, I visualize how a particular… sight and feeling will appear on a print. If it excites me, there is a good chance it will make a good photograph. It is an intuitive sense, an ability that comes from a lot of practice.  - Ansel Adams

My baby arrived safe and sound on Sunday after weeks of anticipation. The process of “unboxing” was really exciting, especially when the baby I’m handling isn’t just any ordinary camera. Yes, it’s the D700. After charging the battery and inserting it along with the memory card, it’s time for the fitting of the lens. Everything came together harmonically, and within seconds my baby’s ready for usage. Switching it on was sensual, as the whole body came alive, revealing figures and the room through it’s eye (the viewfinder). One word that could informally describe it – Orgasmic. The shutter sound is so quick and agile thanks to the Kevlar Carbon Fibre shutter unit Nikon used to produce such a beauty. The images produced by it were simply stunning, with the help of the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D. Shall start taking photos regularly and post them up if possible. Till then, enjoy the pictures. =]

Deseos no divulgada

I tried to keep both arts alive, but the camera won. I found that while the camera does not express the soul, perhaps a photograph can! - Ansel Adams

My sincere apologies to those who frequent my blog to find the lack of updates. Being busy nowadays, saving and saving, hindered my blog updates. During the holidays, while everyone else was having his or her enjoyable moments, I was having my ITP. Yes, ITP. It was a short period though, with all the fun people to work with, and working without formalities and whatsoever. The best news I’ve heard in my ITP, was the fact that the “allowance” given the company, had been increased to $500 per month instead of the pathetic $440. The $60 increase maybe insignificant for some, but that wasn’t the case for me. It actually mean a smoother saving process for me to get what I want. For those of you who don’t know what I’m saving for, the answer is an easy one – Camera. Yes, I’ve reached the limit for my baby LX3, in the sense of it’s ISO limitations. Shooting in low light conditions never failed to piss me off when I see how grainy the photograph can be. However, I won’t sell it away. The Macro function is superb, and given enough light, the camera is simply orgasmic. After jumping from getting a D90, to a D300s, I’ve finally settled down with my final decision – the D700. Rumors have been spreading around, regarding a D700 replacement. But to me, what the heck, D700 is already good enough. Along with the body, I’ll get a prime lens – the 50mm f/1.4D. It may be old, but it’s one hell of a prime lens. Hopefully I’ll get the kit next Sunday and practice to get ready for my niece’s birthday. Till then, I shall pray hard that I’ll get more financial sponsors for my camera.
